After several years of using Nvidia autonomous driving solutions, the manufacturer Tesla has unveiled its own equipment developed in-house and supposed to offer the necessary processing power for the needs of the autonomous driving of its option FSD (Full Self Driving).
In 2019 , the firm had unveiled a Hardware 3 within a FSD Computer embedded in its electric vehicles and capable of providing category 2 autonomous driving.
A new generation is preparing and will be based on a Hardware 4 even more powerful with a FSD Computer 2 which will reinforce the initial capacities. This new solution will again be entrusted to Samsung for production, like the current system.
The heart of the system will be engraved in 7 nm on the Korean site of Hwasung and the production should begin during the last quarter of the year, except delay.
Elon Musk, boss of Tesla, indicated that this FSD Computer 2 will make a first appearance in his electric pickup Cybertruck expected next year. The vehicle should not be marketed until the end of 2022.
