Electricity Board to shift to electric vehicles | KSEB projects for electric vehicles

KSEB plans to adopt electric vehicles to reduce the use of fossil fuels and carbon emissions. The board has decided to take 1200 electric cars on rent for the officers and the electrical section offices.

200 vehicles will be taken for rent in the first phase and 1000 in the second phase.

The central government has introduced several schemes and subsidies to promote the use of electric vehicles. KSEB has decided to carry out the centre’s guidelines step by step. The Electricity Board will convene a Director Board meeting to obtain permission to call for tender in the first phase.

KSEB is also undertaking efforts to install charging stations in all districts by November. The Board has also devised a pilot project to fix charging points on the electricity distribution posts.
