Electric vehicles: Drivers could save thousands of pounds with grants and tariffs

Drivers may take an even further step and purchase an electric vehicle from abroad where it may be cheaper, and drive it back to the UK.

Drivers are urged to be cautious however, with a number of factors being important before transporting the vehicle back.

They will need to factor in the average price, the amount of VAT they will need to pay and even how to get it back.

If they are choosing to drive it home, perhaps from mainland Europe, motorists will need to look at getting temporary number plates and insurance.
