The top-end personas will also feature a 6-speaker Harman surround sound system that works brilliantly in conjunction with the infotainment system.

Being a 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit, the engine that is available on the Tata Punch feels quite refined. According to the spec sheet, it can churn out a decent 85BHP and 113Nm of peak torque while being mated to a 5-speed manual or an automatic transmission which again sounds impressive.

Interestingly, the all-new hatchback has recently scored a 5-star rating at the Global NCAP making it one of the safest cars available in India. To be precise, it comes with several safety features including dual airbags, rear parking camera, ABS with EBD, etc among others.

Launched back in 2016 in India with a motive to capture the segment between hatchbacks and sub-four-meter SUVs, Ignis did quite well among the potential buyers. Being compact in size, it was perfect for city rides but demand for the same has been decreasing at a substantial rate that obviously gives the all-new Punch an upper hand.

Cars from Maruti Suzuki have never been known for their features. Surprisingly, Ignis is loaded decently and therefore, it stands tall in front of its recently arrived rival – the all-new Tata Punch. To begin with, it gets projector LED headlamps, automatic climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, DRLs and a multi-function steering wheel among others.

For occupant’s safety, it comes loaded with dual airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts and ABS with EBD across all the variants. The Indian version of the hatchback has not been tested at the Global NCAP yet. However, the ones manufactured for the African market has scored a 3-star rating.
