In total, 2,012 people were surveyed, and the results were, should we say, interesting. Only 21 percent said that they would buy a fully autonomous vehicle. Of that group, only 22 percent said that they would remain focused behind the wheel, while a massive 44 percent said that they’d most likely zone out on music or podcasts.
A survey undertaken by International accounting giant Deloitte back in 2019 revealed that 50 percent of respondents did not believe that self-driving cars would be safe. That’s a massive improvement over the 74 percent who said the same thing in 2017. For now, the technology is still expensive, with manufacturers such as Tesla Charging $10,000 for its Autopilot system, from the Base Model 3, all the way up to the Tesla Model S Plaid. Whether people trust them or not, self-driving cars are set to hit the road soon, and some estimate that the market will be worth over $880 billion by 2035.
