The Product Manager of Pricing Sophistication (Vehicle) owns the roadmap for countrywide pricing research, driving the advancement of telematics pricing sophistication and strategy to preserve the overall health of the vehicle (Auto, Motorcycle, Boat) lines. The Product Manager also collaborates with key stakeholders (including pricing, product design, product management, customer experience, finance, and competitive intelligence) and is accountable for influencing enterprise strategy at the highest levels to promote the evolution of the product.
Key Responsibilities
Develops Pricing Strategies and Plans for Line
- Execute strategies to ensure the integration and execution of product, pricing, and risk management for broad usage
- Determine or execute operational parameters to get new pricing projects implemented
- Responsible for seeking out resolutions to product barriers
- Perform appropriate analysis (e.g. competitor, product, market, risk management, financial) to gain competitive advantage and understand the underlying health of the product(s) from a countrywide view
- Design and support innovations in all aspects of the product development lifecycle
- Support Line Management Leaders in the creation of communication plans, product development and recommendations to solve product or implementation issues and to redirect opportunities of efforts
- Understand and contribute to the achievement of short and long-term strategies to achieve market share growth and profitability targets for the line
Leads Integration and Execution
- Become a subject matter expert for the market and customers to consult on complex issues
- Manage teams, analysis and communications to ensure appropriate development, and execution of pricing sophistication
- Measure and communicate results; make recommendations to leaders on redirection opportunities of efforts in pricing strategy
- Support business cases and influences others to take recommended actions on proposed countrywide strategies or results
- Work directly with stakeholders and lead cross-functional AORs including pricing, product design, product management, customer experience, finance, and competitive intelligence to align on strategies and execution methods
- Support coordinated efforts across the organization to facilitate the implementation of initiatives
- Leverage expertise to provide recommendations to leaders on initiatives and strategic fit
- Manage countrywide product and/or process changes
- Provide stewardship on initiatives that can be consumed by other AORs
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience: 7+ years of experience
- Demonstrate and foster a sense of urgency, strong commitment and accountability for achieving results
- Advanced product, price, underwriting and insurance regulation knowledge preferred, with working knowledge of personal lines rate plans and product offerings
- An advanced knowledge of industry and company economics; Knowledge of telematics products
- Understand, create, and communicate business tactics that support changing business strategies and direction
- Understand complex concepts; Ability to solve complex problems
- Collaborate across boundaries to implement decisions and / or initiatives in an integrated manner
- Lead measurement, evaluation, and action on results (financial and operational)
- Consistently achieves superior results
- Must have strong communication skills combined with the ability to influence others
- Provide strong people and thought leadership; Has ability to develop, mentor and coach others
Compensation Data
Compensation range for this position is $91,800 to $159,300 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Other compensation includes AIP bonus.
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
