ACO Tech has announced its next-gen product, the ACO Tech Local Automotive Services or ATLAS for short that fuses humanized smart lifestyle, control, and convenience into a whole infotainment OS.
As you might not know, ACO Tech is the joint venture company behind Proton Edar, Ecarx Hubei technology, and Altel communications that powers the Proton X70 and X50’s GKUI system and ATLAS’s main integration is going to start with these two automobiles first. For starters, users are able to access content such as tuning into Astro Radio and podcasts, music streaming through JOOX for entertainment, get updated with the latest traffic information, and navigation help through ATLAS Map either manually or automatically upon fulfilling certain conditions (eg. running low on fuel) and more. As the smart system is developed by Malaysians themselves, the internal voice recognition AI is trained to recognize our “Malaysian English” slang containing varying levels of tones, speed, and sometimes “rojak” languages effectively.
While the features listed above are introduced at the beginning, ACO Tech is also planning to add in more such as ATLAS Pay that can help drivers to pay for whatever things they may come across digitally and cashless, ATLAS Mall that lets you buy products or make reservations, ATLAS Discover powered by the community for recommendations and advice, and ATLAS Vehicle that essentially acts as the smart info dashboard for your car and allows remote access to several functions as well.
Availability
The ATLAS Auto is promised to become available in Q4 2021 but we are not sure when will it actually be available+compatible with the current onboard Android Auto system in the Proton X70 and X50 as they are still running Android 8 while ATLAS Auto is made to compatible with Android 9. Only time will tell I guess.
